The Situation
In 2003, residential communities across the country were clamoring for simple, secure visitor management. QuickPass, an access-control and security services company based in Phoenix, Arizona, made this a reality by developing QuickPass 1.0. Their flagship application offered a robust visitor check-in process that included an operated security post, visitor announcements, access schedules and a resident-facing web portal.
While the solution developed by QuickPass empowered homeowners, property managers and security personnel, and was truly revolutionary for more than a decade, technology evolved in ways that made the existing platform outdated and expensive to maintain.
QuickPass leadership wanted to offer a more flexible way to provide safe environments and peace of mind to residents in hundreds of communities across the nation—so they asked Envative to build a complementary mobile app solution geared specifically to the security staff of both residential and office park communities.
The Challenge
QuickPass had initially approached Envative in 2018 to help redesign their access-control system featured in this IoT solution. To achieve this level of functionality, security patrol officers needed real-time access to resident and visitor data to adhere to safety measures for the protection of each community. For the mobile app, QuickPass also wanted enhanced mobile patrol capabilities and to provide a solution with minimal upfront cost/investment to their customers. The new QuickBlue mobile app needed to manage these key security functions:
- Access real-time visitor, staff and community information online
- Provide online storage of citations, incident reports and more
- Deliver live video feed access from the security vehicle
